Comedy is an overwhelmingly male dominated field. At the annual South by Southwest festival in Austin Texas, there will be one woman and 30 men performing. After an outcry from fans, the festival orginizers claimed that the posted lineup was not yet complete. Their statement claimed that not enough women came out to audition this year and that they will work to strengthen their numbers. The orginization claims to be "heartbroken" over the number of women.
